The oil and gas company is in the process of consolidating and standardizing its technology platforms on the Microsoft .NET stack. This first phase engagement with Unify is designed to assess the benefits of migrating Lotus Notes applications to the .NET environment.

The insurance brokerage firm is also standardizing on .NET, having already converted email to Microsoft Exchange. They are now in the process of moving the Notes applications into SharePoint and onto the .NET platform. This pilot is expected to demonstrate that a complete production-to-production migration can be achieved.

"Composer continues to gain momentum as more companies look to standardize and consolidate their IT platforms," said Kevin Kane, vice president and general manager, Composer Solutions, for Unify. "We look forward to working with both companies to ensure a successful completion of these pilots and demonstrate that complex Lotus Notes applications can be migrated to the Microsoft platform."

Composer for Lotus Notes migrates simple and complex custom Lotus Notes applications to Microsoft's SharePoint and .NET platforms. Composer offers customers the opportunity to rapidly adopt the Microsoft platform without having to engage in timely and costly rewrite efforts.
