"Joel truly understands social media and is always one step ahead," said Mark Nardone, executive vice president at PAN Communications. "As we continue to focus and put a strong emphasis on growing our offerings, Joel's expertise, knowledge and leadership will help our clients create and upgrade programs that will drastically increase their visibility and take their brand to an entirely new level."

Richman has led PAN's social media department and has been the go-to source for many clients across the firms' portfolio looking to engage in the online conversations going on about their brands. Joel's will and determination has echoed internally, as he educates staff daily and has championed the firm's blog, prSPEAK.

Richman has played an integral role in guiding public perception in the influential social media realm. Most recently, Joel coordinated an impressive roundtable for his mobile messaging and mobile internet client by bringing together the biggest names in mobile applications and infrastructure and handset makers during CTIA's annual wireless telecom conference. By inviting popular telecom and wireless bloggers who covered events in real time, Joel's counsel resulted in solid coverage and positioned the client as a forward thinker. Joel's speaking engagements include being a panelist at the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR) and two Syndicate conferences. Most recently, Joel was featured in the Council of Public Relations' The Firm Voice, in an article entitled "How is Social Media Changing Your Practice?" His next appearance will be at the Software Innovation Conference where he will be giving a presentation on social media in Boston on Friday, July 18.

"I get a lot of satisfaction from helping PAN's clients realize the tremendous opportunities available to them in social media using the latest web-based tools," said Richman. "It's an exciting time for companies right now. Clients and prospects come to us wanting to know what else they can do to reach and engage their audiences, and we've been having a blast taking them through the steps that are right for them and watching their success. I'm looking forward to working with PAN's staff, clients and future clients on creative, engaging and valuable integrated campaigns which define the next evolution of PR."

Richman joined PAN Communications in 1999 and has run a successful portfolio of cutting edge clients which include Eleksen, Search Engine Strategies Conference and Expo, PubSub, Helium, TRA, Eluma, Good Hope Bags, iCache, ZoomInfo, ion interactive, KnowNow, Vibes Media, Airwide Solutions, and others across a variety of industries. Prior to working at PAN, Richman worked for The Hubbell Group where he conducted PR campaigns for financial and technology companies and where he discovered his passion for technology PR.

Richman graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Journalism, concentrating on PR. Richman resides in Boxborough, MA and enjoys mountain and road biking, fishing and exploring interesting web applications.
