Q1 Labs Positioned in the Visionaries Quadrant of Gartner, Inc.'s Security Information and Event Management Magic Quadrant
Business Wire, May 14, 2008
Evaluation Based on Q1 Labs Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Q1 Labs, a leading network security management company, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the visionaries quadrant in the May 2008 Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Magic Quadrant' report.
According to the report, the SIEM market is being driven by three factors: the emergence of user and resource access monitoring as the primary customer problem to be solved, the demand for the technology from a broad set of customers, and the availability of the technology from large vendors that also sell related products or services. SIEM is one of the fastest-growing security markets, with a growth rate of more than 50% in 2006, 30% in 2007 and estimated revenue reaching more than $800 million in 2007.
2007 was a watershed year for Q1 Labs as the company achieved significant growth milestones including more than 100% revenue growth and 100% customer growth year over year. The first quarter of 2008 continued that trend of growth and execution with the signing of worldwide OEM agreements with Juniper Networks and Nortel Networks as well as expansion into Japan and EMEA.
"I am proud of our position in the visionaries quadrant," said Shaun McConnon, Chief Executive Officer of Q1 Labs. "I am even more pleased that our own growth is far outstripping the market and that our visionary technology has been adopted by the worldwide sales forces of Juniper Networks, Enterasys Networks and Nortel Networks. This will further drive our execution in this market in 2008."
