* Used by top service providers to speed, simplify deployment of key components - TNA, eTOM, SID, Contracts - of the NGOSS model

* Software AG's solutions capitalize on the company's award-winning SOA/BPM product portfolio

NICE, France -- Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, today announced that it will be showcasing a reference implementation of the company's support for the TM Forum's New Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) model at the TM Forum's Management World 2008. With over 3,000 attendees from nearly 75 countries, Management World 2008 is the industry's leading event for evaluating the strategies, best practices and technologies needed by service providers to capitalize on the convergence of communications and media.

The NGOSS model encompasses principles, architecture, data models, process frameworks and specifications for creating more efficient and agile service providers. Leveraging Software AG's top-ranked products for service-oriented architecture (SOA) and business process management (BPM), telecommunications providers can implement key NGOSS components, such as the NGOSS Technology Neutral Architecture (TNA), enhanced Telecom Operations Map (eTOM), Shared Information Model (SID) and NGOSS Contracts, faster and with less risk. Building upon this foundation, they can employ the NGOSS model to reduce operational costs, comply more readily with government regulations and user service level agreements (SLA), improve customer service, and reconfigure existing offerings into new, more valuable products and services more easily.

"The focus of Management World 2008 is in helping service providers embrace their digital future," said Bjorn Brauel, Deputy CTO, Software AG. "As their products are now entirely defined as digital bits and bytes, they need to ensure that their underlying business infrastructure provides the flexibility required by IP-based networks. By using our proven SOA and BPM technologies to take advantage of the industry best practices captured within the NGOSS model, they can fully leverage their existing strengths to create highly-differentiated products and services."

Software AG helps service providers in forty countries address their increasingly sophisticated, complex and more demanding customer requirements. Using its top-ranked technology and deep industry experience, Software AG has helped customers like COLT Telecom, Cox Communications and Vodafone:

* Outflank competitors by creating and launching new services faster.

* Automate service provisioning to lower fulfillment costs.

* Reduce revenue leakage by improving "'network' to cash processes".

* Monitor performance to deliver higher quality service while more quickly resolving outages.

Software AG's solutions for the telecommunications sector fully capitalize on the company's position as a leader in the SOA and BPM markets. Earlier this year, Software AG was recognized by Forrester Research as a 'Leader' in The Forrester Wave[TM]: SOA Service Life-Cycle Management, Q1 2008 [by Larry Fulton with Randy Heffner and David D'Silva (January 28, 2008)]. Previously, the research firm had named Software AG a 'Leader' in The Forrester Wave[TM]: Human-Centric BPM For Java Platforms, Q3 2007 [by Colin Teubner with Connie Moore and Jamie Barnett (August 3, 2007)].

Software AG was also positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the 'Leaders Quadrant' in the Magic Quadrant for Integrated SOA Governance Technology Sets, 2007 [by L. Frank Kenney and Darryl C. Plummer (December 31, 2007)] and in the 'Leaders Quadrant' of the Magic Quadrant for Business Process Management Suites, 2007 [by Janelle Hill, Michele Cantara, Eric Deitert and Marc Kerremans (December 14, 2007)]. More recently, SearchSOA.com recognized the webMethods ESB and webMethods BPMS as 'Products of the Year' in their respective categories.

TM Forum's Management World 2008 takes place May 18-22 in Nice, France. Software AG will be exhibiting at booth #174 throughout the show.
