'Military Spouse Finance Guide' Teaches Money Management, Benefits Charity

Book by Pioneer Services Helps Military Spouses Take Control of Their Family's Finances

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Military spouses are the unsung heroes, taking care of the family and the finances during their husbands' or wives' deployment. They find ways to make ends meet, get the kids to school, and take care of the daily chores, all while worrying about their loved one's safety.

Pioneer Services is giving these spouses a helping hand with a new book: "Military Spouse Finance Guide: Financial Advice for the Homefront."

"Financial problems are a serious concern for military leadership because money troubles at home can affect a service member's performance in the field," said Karen Von Der Bruegge, chief marketing officer for Pioneer Services. "The 'Military Spouse Finance Guide' can help keep those problems from occurring by covering a wide range of topics, providing real-world examples, and giving military spouses the tools they need to control their family's finances. They can even use the information well after their spouses' military careers are over."

The book includes forewords by Sylvia Kidd, director, Family Programs, Association of the United States Army (AUSA); and U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major Roger Stradley, (Ret), founder of USA Cares, Inc.

In addition, all proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit a military non-profit organization: the Association of the United States Army's (AUSA) Family Programs. Pioneer Services joined forces with AUSA because of a shared commitment to improving the quality of life for military families.

"We wanted to provide military spouses with a comprehensive guide that covers a variety of financial topics, as well as act as a resource for every military family," said Von Der Bruegge. "We think it's a great way to show our appreciation for all of the families that have sacrificed so much for our country."
