Compass Minerals to Increase Sulfate of Potash Specialty Fertilizer Prices

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Great Salt Lake Minerals Corp., a subsidiary of Compass Minerals (NYSE: CMP), will increase the price of its sulfate of potash (SOP) specialty fertilizer products by $75 per short ton effective with June 16, 2008, shipments. The new list price for standard, non-granulated SOP will be $733 per short ton and granular SOP will be $745 per short ton at the company's Ogden, Utah, solar evaporation plant. A price list for Great Salt Lakes Minerals' SOP products is posted on its website at www.gslminerals.com.
