New Community Web Site Facilitates 3D and PLM Software Learning and Exchanges, Grooming Tomorrow's Engineers

SURESNES, France -- Dassault Syst[c]mes (DS) (Paris:DSY) (NASDAQ:DASTY), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced the inauguration of a global virtual campus for students and educators, as well as employers interested in the education ecosystem. This international community Web site is designed to inspire visitors through its forums, tutorials, project showcases, articles, training materials and downloadable software, ultimately helping them develop the knowledge and skills necessary for success in tomorrow's dynamic workplace environments.

The site, named "DS Campus", helps future engineers and technicians master cutting-edge 3D and PLM solutions used by the most innovative companies and that are quickly becoming mainstream. The global virtual campus provides among other services free online video training materials to help members boost their PLM software skills. It also facilitates international collaboration through its discussion forums, project showcases, and capabilities for students to recruit sponsors.

One of the many students and educators who worked with Dassault Syst[c]mes to prepare the site, Edwin Anderson, CATIA teaching assistant at the University of Idaho, commented, "I thoroughly enjoy having DS Campus available for the students, particularly the tutorials. They are very short and to the point, and they allow the students to gain a brief overview of a workbench and its functionality. From here we can explore more in-depth tools and processes."

The international community Web site is also for educators, with a platform dedicated to teaching methods and the provision of specialized teaching materials. Through DS Campus, teachers also have access to one of cyberspace's most advanced online PLM libraries.

"PLM and 3D technologies are advancing at an incredible speed. To keep up, it's crucial for educators to be able to easily access an international exchange platform such as DS Campus and to leverage teaching best practices from around the world," explained Xavier Fouger, director of Dassault Systemes' Global Learning and PLM Academy. "DS Campus is built upon real workplace scenarios and is relevant to how industries are using PLM today and tomorrow. It helps prepare truly global engineers."

DS Campus not only provides a full library of over 400 interactive courseware items. A first in the U.S. and Canada, it also enables students to download market-leading software packages including CATIA V5 for only the price of a textbook. To learn more about DS Campus, visit: campus.3ds.com
