NEW YORK -- Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) is announcing its 2007 Citizenship Report, an annual report describing Citi's citizenship programs, performance and community outreach. It focuses on Citi's global performance through its business activities, the Citi Foundation and its employee volunteers. Citi's achievements in microfinance environmental sustainability and financial education, along with its strength in global diversity are described in depth. This is Citi's 7th Citizenship Report and it explores the relationship of the company's business strategy to emerging social and environmental issues.

Citi is self-declaring a "B" Application Level, according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Sustainability Guidelines.

This year Citi combined its Diversity Report (which it has published for nine years) and its Citizenship Report, as well as the Citi Foundation Report, into one 67-page Citizenship Report: http://www.citigroup.com/citigroup/citizen/index.htm. A GRI G3 Content Index is also on the site.

For the first time, Citi has also published a Citizenship brochure. It highlights Citi's Citizenship focus areas and key accomplishments and is available online (at the address above) and in Citibank branches across the United States. (To order free copies of Citi's Citizenship brochure, contact Val Hendy at hendyv@citi.com.)

Included in the report:

* An interview with Mindy Lubber, President, Ceres, which is a coalition of investors, environmental groups, and public interest organizations working with companies to address sustainability challenges. Ms. Lubber provides comments on Citi's sustainability performance over the last year.

* A statement from the National Council of La Raza (NCLR). The NCLR is the largest constituency-based Hispanic organization in the United States. President and CEO Janet Murguia comments on how working with Citi can strengthen institutions that serve Latino families and provide much-needed housing counseling assistance to families in danger of foreclosure.

* Reporting on Citi's response to climate change, including the Carbon Principles and a $50 billion initiative to combat climate change.

* An overview of Citi's commitment to microfinance through its Citi Microfinance Business Unit, and the philanthropic microfinance work of the Citi Foundation.

* A review of Citi's efforts to help address the consequences of the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis.

* An update on Citi's pioneering efforts in global financial education where individuals, families and communities can learn how to manage their money and save for the future.

* A review of Citi's diversity strategy and core initiatives to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent, and foster an inclusive work environment.

As Citi expands its global reach, we are committed to strengthening our sustainability efforts and continuing our dialogue with various key stakeholders, including clients and NGOs. We believe we have shared responsibilities to our clients, each other and our franchise, and we must provide superior results for our shareholders while focusing on the long-term well being of our franchise.
