Sponsors and partners of IBM, including Actuate, will be delivering developer-oriented sessions and exhibiting their latest software solutions at the conference which runs from June 1-5, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

This presentation introduces the Eclipse Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) project, a powerful reporting framework that is part of the open source Eclipse initiative. Using BIRT, developers can incorporate reports into their applications without the need for time-consuming custom code, or they can build on and extend BIRT to provide valuable reporting services for their applications and products.
2:15pm: Model Reporting with IBM Rational Software Modeler

9:45am: Effective Reporting with IBM Rational ClearQuest Using BIRT

With the release of IBM Rational ClearQuest 7.1, the reporting data model has been completely overhauled and now exposes a data pull model. This presents new opportunities in terms of disparate data aggregation, manipulation, and deployment that were very difficult to accomplish before. This presentation covers a few of the high-level tips to make reports do the work and leverage these new features.
BIRT Experts from Actuate will also be on hand to demonstrate the company's BIRT-based products throughout the conference at booth 416. In addition, they will also be demonstrating the new version of BIRT Exchange (http://www.birt-exchange.com), a community site where BIRT developers share ideas, technical tips and code and explore how to build reporting into applications.
