Convenience Contract with Texas Department of Information Resources Gives Power of SAS([R]) to Lone Star State

CARY, N.C. -- A convenience contract with SAS will simplify the procurement of SAS([R]) software for all government and education organizations in Texas. The agreement between SAS, the leader in business intelligence and advanced analytics, and The Texas Department of Information Resources enables Texas public sector entities to simply purchase SAS software through a pre-negotiated price schedule and set of terms and conditions.

SAS is already in use across Texas state government agencies and educational institutions to help them meet a variety of organizational goals. SAS is used for such mission-critical tasks as tax revenue estimation, fraud detection, risk management, program performance management and financial planning and budgeting.

On the local level, SAS can be found in all of Texas' largest cities and counties. The software helps agencies better manage public safety, finance, human resources, utilities and other local functions. Many Texas higher education and K-12 institutions use SAS to improve school and student performance.
