Esker Announces FlyDoc Partnership with Xerox
Business Wire, May 29, 2008
Partnership fills need in growing market for on Demand "Print and Post" business documents
MADISON, Wis. -- Esker, the leader in document process automation solutions, today announced a partnership with Xerox that delivers a solution that seamlessly interacts between Esker's FlyDoc application and Xerox's production printers such as Xerox's iGen3 Digital Production Press and its range of Nuvera Digital Production Systems. Both Esker and Xerox will promote this solution across Europe.
Organizations of all sizes can benefit from FlyDoc's print to post capabilities as a way to manage their business mail. Installed as a virtual printer on each user's computer, FlyDoc enables desktop users to send letters directly from their Microsoft Office Suite or other business applications without having to deal with printing and fulfilment.
Individual documents are sent from various departments or locations and consolidated at local service centers. Service providers using Xerox production printers then print, fold and stuff the documents before they are passed on to the postal service.
The FlyDoc solution offers several benefits to both customers and partners. Customers will have on demand mailing capabilities at their fingertips and will be able to save money by eliminating in-house printing and mailing functions. At the same time, partners will have a new way to generate revenue by adding new value to their service offer. In addition, as the mail will be printed and fulfilled locally, reducing the need for transporting mail over long distances, this solution will also contribute towards a reduction in carbon emissions.
"Esker's unique software capability for gathering diverse documents from thousands of different organizations or locations and then feeding them to service centers using Xerox production printers opens up a totally untapped market for our industry leading digital printers," said Valentin Govaerts, senior vice president, Production and Graphic Arts Industry, Xerox Europe. "The combined Esker and Xerox value proposition offers our partners a new revenue source and helps our customers increase operational efficiency."
"There are several aspects to the Esker and Xerox relationship, as a Xerox customer and Graphic Arts Premier Partner, our own mail facilities are equipped with Xerox iGen3, which has given us a great return on investment by delivering on its promise of excellent color image quality and high print volumes," said Eric Thomas, Vice President of Business Development, Esker. "Now our new partnership will create maximum value for organizations and service providers wanting to develop new business opportunities around the Print and Post service."
