As Budget-Minded Consumers Eye Upcoming Travel Season, ClipBlast! to Index Video Content from CompulsiveTraveler.tv

Business Wire,  May 5, 2008

Index Will Draw on User-Submitted Travel Video Stories from 65 Countries

LOS ANGELES -- ClipBlast! (www.clipblast.com), the premier Web-wide video navigation and distribution platform, today announced that the company will index all current and future video content from CompulsiveTraveler.tv, encompassing professional and user-submitted travel video stories from 65 countries.

ClipBlast! made the announcement in conjunction with Digital Hollywood Spring, here through May 8. At 1 p.m. today, ClipBlast! CEO Gary Baker will participate in a panel, "Social Networks, UGM and Traditional Media: Strategies in Content, Communications and Commerce," along with representatives from Bebo, Hewlett-Packard, Current TV, Reuters Media, MySpace and PeopleJam.

Online video figures to play an increasingly important role during the upcoming summer travel season, as recession-wary travelers strive to obtain the most from their travel dollar - especially those keen on the kind of exotic, immersive travel in which CompulsiveTraveler.tv specializes. In a recent study conducted by AIG Travel Guard, nearly half of all Americans surveyed indicated that they intended to alter their upcoming summer vacation plans in order to save money. According to the Travel Industry Association, 79 million Americans use the Internet when planning travel.

"As a passionate traveler myself, I can attest to the power of video to sustain and enrich the travel experience," said Arnold Blair, Co-Founder and CEO of CompulsiveTraveler.tv. "We have video literally from every corner of the globe, captured by travel enthusiasts who want to share their experiences and stories. We're working with those travelers to create a new language of video travelogue that is every bit as exciting in its novelty as the first penned accounts of travel from past generations. We are delighted that ClipBlast! will now be giving that video even wider exposure."

"As vacation and travel funds become tighter, travelers are investing more time researching vacation opportunities they may not have considered before," said Gary Baker, ClipBlast! founder and CEO. "What better way to get the feel of an out-of-the-way destination than through an online video created by a fellow traveler? Compulsive Traveler brings web viewers there - wherever 'there' might be. Travel remains among the most compelling applications for the Video Web, and CompulsiveTraveler.tv is a leader in this genre."

CompulsiveTraveler.tv (www.compulsivetraveler.tv) was created by the team responsible for the successful "Compulsive Traveler" television series, which has aired on CBS since 2002. The site's creators realized thousands of travel aficionados share the same passion - a love of travel and the need to put that passion on tape or film. The website was created so that "compulsive travelers" the world over could get together, upload their short films and share their stories. CompulsiveTraveler.tv was recently selected by the European Travel Commission as the ideal site to host its first-ever video contest to inspire Americans in Europe to shoot and upload their video stories from the continent.
