"Commtouch's global data center infrastructure enables the provision of superior security solutions with a distributed 'in the cloud' delivery method," said Amir Lev, Commtouch's chief technology officer and president. "The strength of our detection-center architecture is that Commtouch licensing partners -- and by extension their customers -- have access to the most up-to-date threat prevention patterns, without having to store or maintain them locally. Each end-customer can leverage the vast processing power of the Commtouch infrastructure, extracting and caching just the relevant updates in real-time."
Directly overseeing the detection centers' operation is Yossi Maslaton, Commtouch's vice president of network operations and customer services. He added: "The detection centers are at the heart of Commtouch's security services, and this expansion will improve service to all of our partners, since all end-customers automatically work with the closest available detection center. Of course this has an immediate positive impact for our 22 Asian licensing partners, and the Asian end-customers of our global partners. The addition of each new detection center further ensures the redundancy and availability of the Commtouch solutions."
In addition to the Hong Kong facility, the Company maintains two detection centers in the United States, and one in the United Kingdom.
Commtouch detection centers serve Commtouch's four product lines, Anti-Spam, Zero-Hour[TM] Virus Outbreak Protection, GlobalView[TM] Mail Reputation Service and GlobalView Zombie Intelligence Service. These offerings are integrated in an OEM model within security vendor's products, such as unified threat management devices, managed security services, message transfer agents, and gateway and desktop software.
