John Paul II High School has a diverse body of educators that are committed to providing students with the most up-to-date technology available. The school prides itself on the many innovative ways that their students and faculty utilize computers and multimedia for learning. The faculty integrates technology into all facets of academic life. Students can access class notes and assignments that teachers post directly to the school's online network; additionally parents can access their child's grades and assignments online enabling them to assist in their child's academic development.

"We're proud of our technological progress and understand that technology can improve the education and enrich the learning experience of our students," said Roger Wise, director of technology at John Paul II High School.

John Paul II High School recently launched a laptop program which provides students with a laptop and access to a campus-wide wireless network through their enrollment at the school. This program forced the school to revisit their existing security infrastructure to ensure that they were managing Internet access and enforcing their acceptable use policies. John Paul II High School enlisted the help of DeepNines by participating in the DeepNines Internet Content Audit (ICA) program in order to get complete network visibility and insight into their Internet traffic. Upon completion of the ICA program, iTrust provided them with the evidence they needed to make the switch to DeepNines.

"Giving students access to Internet was necessary to allow them to truly benefit from our technology-oriented curriculum, however Internet access comes with an added layer of risk," said Kristopher Thurston, technical specialist. "With DeepNines iTrust in place as a barrier between our students and the Internet, we are now confident that our students have access to all the good educational content available to them while keeping unsuitable content and applications out."
