KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Electronic Evidence Discovery, Incorporated (EED), the leader in full service eDiscovery solutions, today announced that it is registered as Safe Harbor compliant. "EED policies, procedures and technologies were already robust and sufficient to meet Safe Harbor requirements, and were previously accepted by corporate and law firm clients through EU authorized contract addendums," said Russ Gould, Director of Marketing at EED. "We took the step to register EED services as a whole, eliminating our clients need to address Safe Harbor terms at the contract level. Maintaining the privacy of our clients has always been mission critical for our company in all aspects of our business, and this registration further demonstrates the internationally accepted privacy policy we established a number of years ago."
According to studies, U.S. businesses in numerous industries now derive more than 50% of their revenues from overseas markets. Given the international nature of business such as U.S. subsidiaries operating overseas or European corporations trading on a U.S. exchange, litigation between international organizations is becoming increasingly common. As a result, eDiscovery is a service that increasingly transcends borders, oceans and languages while complying with the data handling and processing laws of European countries.
Gould added, "EED just established a permanent evidence processing and hosting center in London, and Safe Harbor registration is an important additional step for our company as we continue to improve our service offerings to both law firms and corporations. While there was never any question about the importance of maintaining the privacy of our customers' information, Safe Harbor registration provides additional proof of our commitment."
