Visioneer Announces Retirement of President and CEO Murray Dennis
Business Wire, May 7, 2008
PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Visioneer, Inc., a leader in intelligent imaging solutions, announced today that its President and CEO, Murray Dennis, is retiring from the company. During his more than 12 years with Visioneer, Dennis held numerous leadership positions, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing and, since 1999, President and Chief Executive Officer.
"Murray has been with Visioneer since the early days and has provided leadership to reposition our company as a leader in document imaging. Murray was as much a part of the fabric of success at Visioneer as anyone. I want to congratulate Murray on his successes and wish him the very best as he moves forward to fresh and rewarding new challenges," said J. Larry Smart, Chairman and CEO of Visioneer.
Under Dennis' leadership, the company enjoyed a consistent string of successes and strategic developments including:
* Visioneer OneTouch ushered in single button ease-of-use to the scanning user at a time when buttons didn't exist.
* Visioneer's installed base of scanners grew to over 10 million users, more than any other scanner vendor in history.
* A licensing agreement with Xerox was conceived by Dennis whereby Visioneer would develop, market, sell and support document scanners under the Xerox brand, one of the most recognized brands in the world.
* The innovation of OneTouch with Kofax VRS technology made perfect scans from imperfect originals possible with one button.
* Numerous awards such as multiple AIIM Best of Show, PC Magazine Editors' Choice, and Buyer's Lab Picks made Visioneer and Xerox scanners stand above the competition.
"My years at Visioneer have been a most rewarding and gratifying experience. I am honored to have worked with such talented and dedicated people who have literally changed the photo and document imaging industry through innovation, integrity and commitment," said Murray Dennis.
Smart will assume the combined roles of Chairman and CEO of Visioneer.
