Sana Security Establishes UK Retail Channel

Business Wire, May 7, 2008

Award-Winning Online ID Protection Software Available in PC World and Currys Stores

LONDON -- Launching its push into the UK retail channel, Sana Security, Inc., a leading behavioral security software company, today announced its award-winning PRSC Online Identity Protection software is now available to consumers across the UK in all 711 PC World and Currys retail outlets for PS14.99. The instant and constant protection provided by Sana's unique technology will enable these two DSG international plc (DSGi) brand stores to offer UK consumers a powerful tool they can use to defend themselves against hackers and criminals seeking to steal identity, banking and other personal information while they surf the Internet.

"PC World and Currys stores are two of the most prestigious and recognised retail brands in the UK, and we are excited to be able to kick off our entry into this channel with them," said Peter Baxter, general manager, EMEA region, for Sana Security. "Our acclaimed Primary Response SafeConnect online identity protection software has already been adopted by major ISPs to help protect their subscribers, and now we are making this proven protection available directly to consumers across the UK."

Some 6 million people in the UK claim to have been a victim of identity theft according to YouGov, a research and consulting organisation, and 28 percent of UK adults have either been the victim of online fraud or know someone who has. The Home Office estimates the price of identity theft in the UK is PS1.7 billion each year. Anti-virus protection alone is not enough to guard against these new threats, which appear so quickly now that traditional signature-based anti-virus software cannot keep up. Sana's behavior-based technology is always up to date, and constantly protects identity and other critical information from hackers and criminals.

"DSG international is committed to providing our retail customers the best possible solutions for protecting themselves and their computers, and we are pleased to be able to complement the security offerings in our PC World and Currys stores with Sana's identity protection software," said Lee Thompson, Head of Trading for DSGi. "The instant and constant extra layer of protection offered by Sana's software will help our customers deal with one of the fastest growing types of frauds in the UK."

DSG international plc is one of Europe's leading specialist electrical retailing groups. Currys is the UK's largest electrical retailer, and the Currys chain, including Currys.digital, has 550 stores in a combination of High Street and out of town locations. PC World is Britain's largest specialist chain of computer superstores has 161 PC World stores across the UK.

When first installed, Primary Response SafeConnect instantly detects any threatening software that may have already infected a computer by analysing its behavior, and removes all traces of it from the system. Once removal is complete, Sana's online identity protection technology continues to work unobtrusively to constantly protect the system without the need for further action by the user. Unlike traditional desktop security products, Primary Response SafeConnect shields the user from ordinary maintenance and administrative tasks while radically improving the security of their system, ensuring the maximum effectiveness in eliminating threats without the need to obtain signature updates, run full system scans or perform other tasks.
