Rentech Receives Safety Handling Award

LOS ANGELES -- Rentech, Inc. (AMEX:RTK) announced today that its ammonia fertilizer facility, Rentech Midwest Energy Corporation ("REMC"), received an award from the Canadian National Railway Corporation ("CN") for Safety Handling. REMC also received this prestigious award in 2006 and 2007.

In the press release announcing the award, Jerry Boland, CN's Vice President, Sales, stated, "These awards were established to recognize customers for handling dangerous goods carefully and judiciously, and for respecting high standards."
