OLLU Prepares for Noon Prayer Service on May 7

Brief Comments from Officials Regarding Campus Fire Will Follow Service

SAN ANTONIO -- Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU)

* Media access to the noon prayer service will be through the loading dock of the University Wellness and Activities Center (UWAC). Access will be available through the West Gate Entrance on Commerce Street.

* OLLU officials will provide brief comments following the service.

* OLLU is setting up UWAC to accept donations of bottled water and non-perishable food items for students, staff and faculty who are on campus. Donations have already been provided.

* All of the university's archival records have been backed up and secured off campus.

* Day and evening classes have been canceled for the entire day (May 7).

* Final examinations will be held next week.

* Trimester III Weekend College classes will be held this weekend.

* Graduation liturgies and commencement will be held next week as scheduled.

* Updates on the status of classes for the rest of the week will be provided as soon as possible and will be made available on the Web site: www.ollusa.edu.

* Students and faculty can also check lakeonline.blackboard.com for regular updates.

* St. Martin Hall Child Development Center is closed all day today (May 7).

* Many community members have asked how to help so Frost Bank has set up an account for those who wish to donate to the "Our Lady of the Lake University Rebuilding Fund."

* The University has been headed in a positive direction and will not let this tragedy impede our momentum. We are making plans for the upcoming semesters.

* We thank the fire department, police, Red Cross, all emergency officials and all the people in the community who have been helping and reaching out to the University. Their efforts and prayers are helping OLLU through this tragedy.

Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), founded in 1895 by the Congregation of Divine Providence, is a co-educational liberal arts institution with an enrollment of approximately 2,800 students. The university offers 56 bachelor's degree programs, 48 master's degree programs and two doctoral degree programs.
