Fitch Rates Citigroup Preferred Stock 'A+'

NEW YORK -- Fitch Ratings assigns an 'A+' rating to the 8.5% non-cumulative perpetual preferred stock, Series F issued by Citigroup Inc (Citi). The Series F preferred securities totaling $2 billion qualify for Tier 1 regulatory capital treatment. Based on Fitch's criteria, these capital securities have equity-like characteristics which result in Fitch 'Class E' treatment (100% equity credit), up to a 30% limit of Fitch capital.
