Community to Rally for Woodman's Workers
Community Members to Gather in Janesville and Show Support for Local Woodman's Workers in Fight against Anti-Union Attacks
Local labor leaders, community members and leaders, and religious leaders will gather along with area Woodman's workers to rally for good union jobs in our communities.
The rally is sponsored by Citizen Action of Wisconsin, in support of Woodman's union workers from UFCW Local 1473 who are fighting to keep their union jobs.
Woodman's stores have been our neighborhood grocery stores for generations, and they've always been union. But now Phil Woodman has hired a high-priced lawyer and a consultant from the East Coast to try and drive out the union at his stores. The union has filed numerous unfair labor practice charges against Woodman's for its illegal actions against workers, and additional charges are expected.
Community leaders and workers are taking a stand, because they know that union jobs are good, middle-class jobs that support families and help our community thrive.
