NIRI NY Announces Program: A CEO Perspective on Investor Relations
Business Wire, May 7, 2008
NEW YORK -- The New York Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI-NY) will host an informative discussion on the interaction between investor relations, the office of the President, and the analyst community. The meeting will be held at the Westin Hotel in Times Square on Tuesday, May 13th at 6 p.m.
The speakers will address the critical link between public companies and their investors with particular emphasis on the unique situation for small cap companies. The discussion will provide insight as to how the interaction can create and encourage valuable dialogue between the CEO and Wall Street interests.
"One of the chief complaints on Wall Street today is that CEO communications with investors are often monologues instead of dialogues," said Hulus Alpay, president of the New York Chapter of NIRI and Senior Vice President of Makovsky Company. "This session will provide valuable insights into what investors need to make informed investment decisions, particularly as it applies to one of the most difficult market segments - small cap stocks. Our speakers will approach this important topic from both sides of the equation. Those in attendance will learn how IROs and counselors can maximize their CEOs relationships with the investment community by broadening their understanding of this unique dynamic and sharpening their communications skills."
Presenters will be:
* Robert W. D'Loren, President and CEO of NexCen Brands, a global brand management company
* Peter Sidoti, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Sidoti & Co., the largest and fastest growing provider of small-company equity research on Wall Street
Registration begins at 5:30 pm, with the program beginning promptly at 6:00 pm. A networking reception will follow at 7:00 pm.
