Avnet Expert to Deliver Keynote Address at 2008 LED Technology Investment Forum

PHOENIX -- Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces that Avnet LightSpeed Director Cary Eskow will deliver the keynote address at American Technology Research's 2008 LED Technology Investment Forum. Organized by investment and analyst firm American Technology Research, the event will take place in New York City on May 14, 2008.

Eskow, a twenty-seven-year Avnet veteran who holds two industry patents, will present "On the Shoulders of Edison" - a view of the current state and future opportunities for solid-state lighting (SSL) using light emitting diode (LED) technology. Eskow's presentation will delve beyond the benefits of improved energy efficiency, exploring how industry sectors are leveraging LED-based lighting in novel ways to offer significant growth potential and new revenue streams.
