Ulmer & Berne LLP and Deloitte Partner to Celebrate Dress for Success Cleveland's 10th Anniversary
Business Wire, May 8, 2008
CLEVELAND -- The women's professional development initiatives of both Ulmer & Berne LLP and Deloitte have come together to champion Dress for Success Cleveland (DFS Cleveland) in its 10th year of operation.
In a friendly and spirited competition beginning on Mother's Day, the two organizations have challenged each other to see which company can collect the most clothing, accessories and donations through its employees for DFS Cleveland.
DFS Cleveland is a not-for-profit organization that offers services to help women enter the workforce and stay employed. Each client receives one suit when she has a job interview and a week's worth of separates and accessories when she gets the job. The organization also offers Employment Retention programming that provides ongoing support to help these women build a successful career.
In celebration of Mother's Day and DFS Cleveland's anniversary, from May 11th - 16th, both organizations will raise money, and collect new or gently used business appropriate clothing and accessories (including shoes, briefcases, earrings, necklaces, purses, etc.) for DFS Cleveland.
"With Dress for Success celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, and Ulmer & Berne celebrating its 100th, we wanted to take part in several outreach initiatives this year to give back to the community that has been an integral part of our existence for the last 100 years," stated Kip Reader, Ulmer & Berne's Managing Partner. "The opportunity to partner with another strong organization like Deloitte, and do something beneficial for DFS Cleveland in conjunction with our women's initiative was the perfect fit for us."
"Over the past decade Deloitte has emerged as a leader for gender equality in business and in creating a better workplace for all employees," said Pat Mullin, Managing Partner of Deloitte's Cleveland office. "Our support for DFS Cleveland is a wonderful way to continually reinforce this commitment to ourselves and to the marketplace in general."
