ManTech Receives ISO 9001 Certification for Quality Assurance Efforts Supporting U.S. Army Regional Support Centers
Business Wire, May 9, 2008
FAIRFAX, Va. -- ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT) announced today that it has received International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification for its Quality Management System (QMS) supporting the U.S. Army Regional Support Centers (RSCs). ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized quality measurement standard and the certification of ManTech's management system demonstrates the company's commitment to providing world-class customer service and solutions to the Army.
The RSCs provide integrated, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Integrated Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) equipment maintenance, logistical and systems engineering support, limited depot support and back-up direct support to Army units within the U.S. and overseas. These support services have proven vital to Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism. ManTech personnel at the RSCs have supported every major military deployment since 1990. ManTech supports centers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, Korea and other locations.
ManTech Telecommunications and Information Systems Corporation, a subsidiary of ManTech International Corporation, which supports the Army's RSCs, was accredited by Det Norske Veritas, an independent ISO standards certification firm in April, 2008.
In order to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification for a quality management system, an organization must demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements, and also show its dedication to continuous improvement and enhancing customer satisfaction. ManTech's customer for the RSC effort is the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command.
Milliam Alvarez, Quality Assurance Manager, ManTech Telecommunications and Information Systems Corporation, credits the certification to teamwork, existing stringent quality processes, a working environment that was process driven and structured, and a strong working relationship with the customer.
"My congratulations to our entire RSC team," said Dave Bryan, President, ManTech Defense Systems Group, ManTech International Corporation. "We are proud of the tremendous dedication and commitment it took to meet the extensive requirements for this certification. The RSCs play a critical role in the war against terrorism and the Army's transformation efforts. The demands on the RSC are changing, as is the technology and the systems required to support them. Maintaining an effective quality management process allows us to better support these evolving, critical missions."
ManTech is committed to quality assurance and continuous improvement. Its ManTech Systems Engineering Corporation subsidiary is rated as Capability Maturity Model Integration Maturity Level 3 for Software and Systems Engineering, another highly regarded quality benchmark. Other groups within ManTech have also received ISO 9001 certifications supporting NASA, the State Department and other customers.
