Versar, Inc. Awarded Four Environment Services Contracts
Business Wire, Oct 16, 2008
SPRINGFIELD, Va. -- Versar, Inc. (Amex:VSR) announced today that its Chicago office has been awarded three separate Environment Services Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) contracts from the following Chicago Departments: City of Chicago Department of Environment; Public Building Commission of Chicago; and Chicago Park District. The Chicago office was also awarded a Region 5 Environmental Services Blanket Purchase Agreement from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Versar expects these contracts to generate over $3.5 million in the next several years.
These contracts will vastly increase the Chicago office's opportunities to provide a full range of environmental services to the City of Chicago. These contracts are especially exciting as Chicago is a front-runner to host the 2016 Summer Olympics. If awarded the Olympic bid, these contracts would be heavily utilized to assess and remediate hundreds of sites to clear the way for infrastructure upgrades, and new construction for Olympic facilities.
Dr. Ted Prociv, President and CEO of Versar said, "These contracts will allow our Midwest operations to continue to expand. Both the City of Chicago and the GSA recognize our ability to deliver projects on budget and on time. Versar plans to focus on key infrastructure issues in the United States as we continue to grow our revenue and profitability."
