Business Wire, Oct 16, 2008

Selected Dates on the Tour Will Feature Special Guest Vocalists, Gospel Powerhouse Robert Robinson and Former Lonestar Lead Singer Richie McDonald

LOS ANGELES -- Tonic Sol-fa, the popular Minnesota-based four-part harmony group the New York Times once praised as "a vocal kaleidoscopeOunique to the human voice," is currently gearing up for Holiday Tour 2008, their annual Christmastime extravaganza that hits 19 cities throughout the Midwest.

The 22-date tour, which covers Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Texas North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin, includes dates in Kansas City and Minneapolis and wraps with a three night run at the Historic Paramount Theatre in St. Cloud.

The foursome will be joined on several dates of the tour by two very special guests, renowned gospel singer Robert Robinson and former Lonestar frontman Richie McDonald. Robinson has toured with Lorie Line, performed with Aretha Franklin and is currently the director of the Twin Cities gospel choir. McDonald released his solo debut album I Turn To You this year after scoring 27 singles on the Billboard Country Charts as a member of Lonestar from 1992 to 2007.

Tonic Sol-fa, who has shared stages over the years with Garrison Keillor, Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy, Lonestar, Montgomery Gentry, Shawn Colvin, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Bryan White, Neal McCoy and Bobcat Goldthwait, is quickly becoming a holiday institution all across America thanks to their annual Emmy-nominated PBS Christmas Special.

The show they taped at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis in December 2005 debuted on PBS in 2006 and has aired over 1,800 times in 47 states and in Canada; it will run for the third consecutive year this holiday season. Tonic Sol-fa has been selling a DVD of this concert for the past year and recently released its companion CD, Christmas. In the midst of the current tour, Tonic Sol-fa will be taping another holiday show for PBS and a new non-holiday special at the Hoyt Sherman Theatre in Des Moines.

The group, which began their holiday tradition years ago performing at a small high school in South Dakota, will be doing special tie-ins in various cities with Toys 4 Tots.
