The event is hosted by the MIT Sloan Sales Club, which promotes sales as a critically important and fundamental skill necessary for any business career. The International MBA Sales Competition is designed to challenge the managerial sales skills of top business school students.
In the event's first round, three students will be selected from each of the participating MBA schools, which include Kellogg, Wharton, Babson, MIT, Haas Berkeley, Stanford, HBS, London Business School, BU, Tuck and Columbia. These students will come to MIT Sloan on October 18, where they will compete in a case competition based on real-life sales situations, including one-on-one sales pitches and group sales presentations, with each school represented by its top three students.
