Packages Featuring Continental Air to Be Available via Certified's Private-Label Future Vacations Brand Nov. 1
Earlier Transition to Better Position Future Vacations for Market Opportunities
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Certified Vacations Group, Inc. announced today that it has agreed with Continental Airlines to discontinue operating the Continental Airlines Vacations brand effective November 1, 2008, two months earlier than originally scheduled. The move enables an early start to a new Tour Operator Agreement reached between the two companies in April 2008 that makes Continental air service available via Certified's private-label Future Vacations brand for the first time.
Nick Davison, President of Certified Vacations, commented on the decision, saying: "This is a move that speaks to the persistent strength of our company as we continue to re-position our business to better serve our customers, travel agents and trade partners. Our primary focus going forward is to bolster the Future Vacations brand. The early transition gives us greater flexibility to pursue new initiatives that offer strong prospects to immediately grow our business. We've enjoyed a long and close relationship with Continental over the past 11 years, and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership under the Future Vacations brand."
The addition of Continental brings to 18 the total number of airlines featured in the Future Vacations product line.
In line with its commitment to superior customer service, Certified Vacations will continue to manage all Continental Airlines Vacations bookings made prior to November 1, 2008 regardless of effective dates of travel.
