Management Solutions Firm, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Alion Science and Technology, to Design and Implement Information Portal for Improved Tracking and Audit Management
MCLEAN, Va. -- Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions provider, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Washington Consulting, Inc. (WCI), has been awarded a $2.3 million contract to provide program management, information technology and collaboration solutions to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Under the three-year contract, WCI will support the FCC's auditing initiatives by designing and implementing a Microsoft([R]) SharePoint([R]) information portal, including Microsoft([R]) Project Server, for detailed tracking and improved management of audit-related deliverables, milestones and results data. The information portal will feature customized modules for schedule management, document management and control, audit results compilation and status reporting.
"Our goal is to implement customized modules through the use of these Microsoft([R]) products to create an effective management regime for addressing FCC priorities and measuring initiative success," said Damon Griggs, Alion Senior Vice President and President of the Washington Consulting subsidiary. "By creating a standardized project management framework, WCI will provide the FCC with a high level of visibility to audit progress and outcomes or potential risks and issues for successful audit completion."
WCI is supporting the FCC in establishing a systematic approach for efficiently planning and executing audit activities by providing program management and technical services for the initial system implementation, as well as project management services to leverage the new infrastructure for operational management of audit activity.
The performance period runs from September 2008 to September 2011.
