Parallel Petroleum to Present at IPAA Oil & Gas Investment Symposium

MIDLAND, Texas -- Parallel Petroleum Corporation (NASDAQ: PLLL) announced today that its President & CEO, Larry Oldham, is scheduled to present at the Oil & Gas Investment Symposium (OGIS), hosted by the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), on October 6-8, 2008, at The Palace Hotel, 2 New Montgomery Street, in San Francisco, California.
Mr. Oldham's conference presentation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at 11:20 a.m. Pacific Time (2:20 p.m. Eastern Time). The presentation will be webcast live and will be available on the Company's web site, http://www.plll.com.
