The Next Great City coalition will be holding a public rally to thank Mayor Nutter, his administration and City Council for the progress it has made towards implementing the 10-point common-sense Next Great City agenda. These ten objectives, detailed at www.nextgreatcity.com, include improving recycling, modernizing our zoning code and improving air quality.

When: October 21, 10:30 a.m.

Where: Dilworth Plaza in front of Philadelphia City Hall at 15(th) and Market streets

Participants in the rally include:

* Mayor Michael Nutter

* Christine Knapp, Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture)

* U. S. Environmental Protection Agency

* Philadelphia Fire Department

* Mid-Atlantic Regional Air Management Association

* Philadelphia Diesel Difference

To highlight the work done to date, a diesel-retrofitted fire truck will be on hand for viewing. This truck is one of 77 being retrofitted with a grant from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, and one of dozens of diesels citywide that are being equipped with diesel emissions reduction equipment.
