ICF to Develop National Youth in Transition Database
FAIRFAX, Va. -- ICF Information Technology, LLC, a subsidiary of ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI), announced today that it was awarded a new contract with Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Children's Bureau to develop its National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD). The total value of the five-year contract is $6.6 million.
The Chafee Foster Care Independence Program (CFCIP) provides states with flexible federal funding for programs that assist youth in transitioning from foster care to self-sufficiency. Under federal law, ACF is required to develop a data collection system to track and assess state performance in operating these CFCIP-funded programs. Data is to be collected from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.
ICF will work with ACF to design, develop, implement, and deploy this data collection system. Under the contract, ICF will also provide knowledge transfer, training, and technical assistance to federal and state users of the NYTD, and manage conference logistics for NYTD meetings.
"ICF's involvement with various Children's Bureau programs and major federal data sets has provided us with keen insights into ACF's needs for this project," commented Ellen Glover, ICF's executive vice president for technology and management solutions. "We are excited about applying our IT capabilities to design a quality data system that will help federal and state staff track results and ultimately improve outcomes in transitioning youth from foster care to self-sufficiency."
