Pegasystems' New Federated Business Frameworks Improve Customer Experiences and Reduce Operational Costs
Business Wire, Oct 21, 2008
Enterprise re-use and single view of distributed work helps bridge operational silos
WASHINGTON -- Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the industry leader in BPM, today announced new Federated Business Frameworks for its industry-leading SmartBPM([R]) Suite. These frameworks deliver the BPM industry's first central management view and unified work portal for work done through BPM systems distributed across different operational units. By building a federated approach to work and process across different business operations, they enable a customer- first capability for the enterprise and reduce non-value added costs.
The new SmartBPM frameworks include:
* Integrated Work Manager([TM]) - creates a dynamic integrated work list that gives participants and managers the ability to prioritize, route, and view work across multiple SmartBPM applications
* Business Information Exchange([TM]) - pulls information from multiple SmartBPM applications into an organization's business intelligence systems and produces integrated process reporting
* Virtual Enterprise Repository - provides a central repository where multiple SmartBPM applications deposit, access and re-use business procedures, policies and services
* Autonomic Event Services([TM]) - with new support for multi-cluster deployment that utilizes the system to diagnose and optimize performance
"Today's knowledge workers need to complete work without running into silos," said Daryl Plummer, Managing Vice President and Gartner Fellow at industry analyst firm Gartner. "IT too often makes them jump from one system to another, and frankly they are getting tired of it. When technologies like BPM and SOA can work together to create a single and central process registry and repository that is used across the entire enterprise, then that will certainly help the individual worker by giving them a single view of their work and will be a tremendous benefit for the enterprise which need centralized governance and control of these assets."
"Pegasystems has many customers that are rapidly adopting and rolling out multiple BPM systems across their departments and business units," says Alan Trefler, Founder and CEO of Pegasystems Inc. "The Federated Business Frameworks are the perfect solution for organizations looking to leapfrog the constraints of isolated departmental-only BPM in order to increase enterprise flexibility, breadth and transparency. Our frameworks enable them to roll out unit-specific BPM for improved customer experience, and also create a new enterprise level view of work and performance. Taken together with our recent BPM Platform-as-a-Service announcement, we believe this announcement has significantly raised the bar on what businesses should demand from their BPM software."
Pegasystems is announcing this new offering at the company's annual customer conference - PegaWORLD Agility '08. Attendees from many leading global financial services, healthcare, insurance, and life sciences organizations are attending this year's PegaWORLD event to share their BPM experiences and discuss their business challenges for the coming year.
