Advanced Distributed Sensor Systems Wins $5 Million Contract
Business Wire, Oct 22, 2008
DENVER -- Advanced Distributed Sensor Systems Inc, (ADSS) has received a U.S. Air Force contract valued at $5 million for procurement of ADSS' SensorPod([R]) system. ADSS' SensorPod system uses advanced situational awareness and meteorological sensors with integrated communications to gather and communicate vital data and information used to make critical decisions. The lightweight, rugged devices do not rely on existing communications infrastructure, making them especially suitable for use in locations that are extremely remote and difficult to access.
According to Dave Jansen, ADSS president, "This is a significant contract for ADSS and an indication that the ADSS SensorPod system is the preferred solution for quickly obtaining essential environmental information worldwide. We are very proud that the U.S. Air Force has selected ADSS as the provider for this contract."
Located in Littleton, Colorado, ADSS is a leader in the development and integration of advanced sensor technologies for defense, homeland security, force protection and commercial applications. The company's proprietary sensors deliver superior awareness and actionable intelligence for a wide range of military and civilian uses. Through the use of cutting-edge communication and sensing pods, the ADSS SensorPod product line provides a total system solution that is unrivaled in today's market.
ADSS has been shipping products to customers since 2005. The rapidly growing company has been awarded over $10 million in contracts in the past six months, including a recent $2.3 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense for enhancements to the ADSS Situational Awareness Network.
