Venture Capitalist Rick Inatome Says Money Still Available for Michigan Companies; Inatome to Speak in Southfield Tuesday, October 28
Business Wire, Oct 25, 2008
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- Venture capitalist and founder of two billion-dollar companies, Rick Inatome, says that despite the tough economy, funding is still out there for Michigan businesses and entrepreneurs. Inatome is managing director of Sterling Partners, a $4.2 billion private equity fund with over 34 portfolio companies and $700 million in uncommitted capital.
Inatome, who founded Inacomp Computer Centers more than 20 years ago in Michigan and now lives in Florida, will speak at a program hosted by the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, October 28 in Southfield. He says that while the current economic downturn may be discouraging, there are still tremendous opportunities for businesses that can position their companies to thrive in what might seem like chaos.
"Michigan still offers a viable business environment with numerous advantages," Inatome says. "And the right business model will still get funding; it's just a matter of looking outside many of the traditional sources."
Both of Inatome's billion-dollar ventures were started in economic downturns.
The program is being held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Southfield from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 and include a buffet dinner. Call 248-844-4100 or go to www.apacc.net.
