Middlesex University Confers Honorary Doctorate on H.E. Sultan Bin Sulayem

Dubai World Chairman first recipient of the university's accolade in the UAE
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Middlesex University Dubai, a leading provider of British higher education in the Gulf region, honored His Excellency Sultan Bin Sulayem, Chairman of Dubai World, with the accolade of Honorary Doctor of the University in recognition of his dedication to excellence and commitment to the economic development of the UAE and the Arab World, and his inspiring community leadership.
This is the first Honorary Doctorate, the highest academic recognition, Middlesex University Dubai, the first overseas campus of the internationally renowned Middlesex University in London has awarded in the UAE.
The doctorate was presented to Mr. Bin Sulayem during the third graduation ceremony of the university on October 25 at Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort.
Academicians and dignitaries, including Middlesex University London Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Driscoll, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University International Dr. Terry Butland, Dubai campus Director Professor Raed Awamleh, government officials and senior executives from top multi-national companies, members of the faculty and students attended the grand ceremony.
Mr. Bin Sulayem thanked Middlesex University for the honour and attributed his achievements to the encouragement, support and trust of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
