U.S. General Services Administration Chooses Qwest for Telecommunications Services

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has chosen Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) to provide telecommunications services to its offices across the country.

GSA made the award to Qwest Government Services in Arlington, Va., under its Networx Universal contract, which is part of GSA's Networx program, the largest government communications program in the world. With an expected value of approximately $31 million, Qwest will provide to GSA a variety of voice services, including switched and dedicated long distance and toll-free services, over the next 10 years.

This is the latest in a series of awards to Qwest under the Networx program, which provides comprehensive communications and networking services and technical solutions to all federal agencies. Recently, Qwest announced contract awards under Networx from NASA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
