Axell Corporation, Beceem, EDA Express, Magillem, MtekVision and Verilab Join OCP-IP

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Open Core Protocol International Partnership (OCP-IP) today announced that Axell Corporation, Beceem, EDA Express, Magillem Design Services, MtekVision, and Verilab have joined the organization. The six new members illustrate the strong support and industry-wide adoption of the OCP standard.

Axell Corporation develops, manufactures and sells graphics and sound large-scale integrated circuits (LSIs). The company offers graphic rendering systems to be built into the devices. It provides application specific standard products, including AG-1 and AG-2 graphics LSIs for the amusement market; AG901 graphic LSI for information technology, FA, measurement and medical equipment- related applications; AG902 graphic LSI, which can be incorporated into the vehicle systems, point of purchase terminals, surveillance and security equipment, and graphic recorders. The company offers AS201 sound LSI for amusement devices. It provides application specific integrated circuits, such as graphics LSI for liquid crystal displays, in pachinko machines, for arcade game machines, and for factory automation equipment. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Founded in October 2003, as a fabless semiconductor company Beceem is a leading provider of high performance chipset solutions for the Mobile WiMAX market, and was the first to introduce terminal chipsets for the Wave 1 and Wave 2 WiMAX Forum profiles, which are based on the IEEE 802.16e-2005 Mobile WiMAX standard. These chipsets can be found at the core of a variety of wireless products, including computing devices, mobile devices, modules, routers and gateways.

Established in October 2005, EDA Express is an EDA portal for Japanese LSI designers. Updated daily, the site contains information on over 800 kinds of EDA tools, EDA-related news, event information. EDA Express enjoys nearly 30,000 visitors per month.

Magillem Design Services was established by a team of seasoned engineers and a group of business angels in the fall of 2006. The company inherited "MAGILLEM," a robust and innovative verification technology. The headquarters are in Paris, France with a subsidiary in the USA and sales office in Asia. The team is a major contributor to the IP-XACT specification and provides a comprehensive tool suite allowing for the design of an XML electronic data book dedicated to IP Reuse and ESL platform integration.
