Business Wire, Oct 29, 2008
SEATTLE -- Medical Consultants Network, Inc. (MCN) has been awarded a contract by the US Department of Labor, Office of Workers Compensation Programs (OWCP) to provide services for its Seattle WA, office. The Seattle contract will serve 4 States in the Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska). Key services will be provided by MCN's Seattle office.
This re-award, competed for following two prior 5 year periods or performance by the company, is the 4th region served by MCN, which also has contracts for the Jacksonville, FL, New York, NY, and Washington, D.C. offices of the OWCP.
The company now provides services for 18 states or territories, including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. The primary services under the contract are medical second opinions for civilian federal employees who submit compensation claims for work-related injuries as part of the adjudication and case management process. MCN contracts with physicians in selected specialties to perform the evaluations.
"We are delighted to be reselected for this contract following an open competition. It has special meaning to serve the region where the company was founded and our home office is located. Over the years we have valued our collaboration with the OWCP's Seattle office and regional physicians in providing a high quality service to the client and the Federal employees evaluated," said Brian Grant, MD, Chairman and Medical Director. "The current contract recognizes the rise of electronic transactions and will be able to use MCN's secure online referral and document management abilities."
