Pam Birkholz of KMG Chemicals Receives Prestigious Recognition from the Association of Financial Professionals

HOUSTON -- KMG Chemicals, Inc. (NASDAQ: KMGB), a global provider of specialty chemicals in niche markets, today announced that its Treasurer, Pam Birkholz, is being recognized by the Association for Financial Professionals ("AFP") as part of the AFP Honors Program for 2008, which recognizes professionals who have reached the top of their fields of treasury and corporate finance.
The criteria for choosing the recipients, who were selected from a pool of more than 100,000 corporate financial practitioners, consist of a rigorous review of their professional qualifications, AFP membership and position within their respective organizations. In addition, all practitioners were required to have earned the Certified Treasury Professional/Certified Cash Manager designation, as proof of industry knowledge. The AFP Honors recipients were chosen from a range of corporations, agencies, government, academia and nonprofits.
Ms. Birkholz joined KMG as Treasurer earlier this year. Prior to joining the Company, she was Senior Vice President at Amergy Bank, heading up their Treasury Management Customer Service and Implementation teams. From 1986 to 2006, Ms. Birkholz served in various Treasury related capacities at Torch Energy Advisors, most recently as Treasurer. Ms. Birkholz has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Business Administration from Regis University.
