New Facility Will Boost U.S. Leadership in Semiconductor Technology
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) applauded today's announcement by AMD of a new, state-of-the-art foundry to be located in Saratoga County, New York.
"The new foundry will help meet the industry's growing demand for state-of-the-art manufacturing services," said SIA President George Scalise. "The New York facility will be a first and will provide a much-needed domestic source for leading-edge foundry services. We also commend the State of New York and Albany Nanotech for their tireless efforts to attract investment in semiconductor research and manufacturing facilities," Scalise concluded.
