PROS Named One of "America's 200 Best Small Companies" by Forbes
Business Wire, Oct 9, 2008
Leading Price Optimization Software Products Company Ranks 30th Overall and 2nd by ROE
HOUSTON -- PROS, a world leader in pricing and revenue optimization science and software, has been named one of "America's 200 Best Small Companies" in a Forbes Special Report. PROS ranks 30th overall and 2nd in terms of return on equity, a key measure of financial and overall business success. PROS is one of 37 companies to appear for the first time this year.
To qualify a company must have revenues of $5 million to $750 million and a share price above $5 as of September 29th. Overall rankings are based on return on equity, sales growth, and profit growth over the past 12 months and also over five years.
"PROS is pleased to be acknowledged by Forbes for outstanding performance among our peers," stated Bert Winemiller, PROS Chairman and CEO. "The fact that PROS is the only price optimization software company acknowledged by Forbes is the result of PROS' ability to directly improve the bottom line - empowering sales executives with the most advanced science-based price optimization software platform in production today."
PROS is also the only pricing software products company in business today to be named a finalist for an Edelman award, the highest honor conferred by the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences. PROS' pioneering work on negotiated contract optimization in 2003 demonstrates our status as a pricing science innovator, before most current competitors employed pricing scientists and in some cases before competitors were even in business.
"Having reached the milestone of being listed on the NYSE in 2007, and now being acknowledged as one of America's 200 Best Small Companies only one year later, PROS is now a pioneer in showing the highest levels of financial and business success in the price optimization software products space," said Jeff Robinson, SVP, Pricing, PROS. "PROS is the only pricing software vendor to be right there where our customers are, listed on the NYSE and highly ranked by Forbes."
The world's largest and most successful companies, including many listed on the Forbes Global 2000, have turned to PROS to generate hundreds of millions of dollars of profits through better pricing. For more than 20 years, PROS price optimization software products have attracted the attention of the world's most successful and innovative companies as a strategic differentiator and now a risk mitigation strategy in a challenging economic environment.
