INEXS Supports Touching the Heart, Inspiring the Mind Endowment Campaign Benefitting the Judson Mead Geologic Field Station of IU

HOUSTON -- Interactive Exploration Solutions, Inc. (INEXS[TM]), a relationship-driven geological and geophysical interpretation consulting company, is tackling an oil and gas industry's internal energy crisis head on.

"The oil and gas industry's well-documented aging workforce, small replacement talent pool crisis is being compounded by a dramatic decrease in available training field courses, which has gone from 250 in the 1980s to less than 70 now," explained INEXS President Craig Davis. "This is one of the driving forces behind INEXS support of the Judson Mead Geologic Field Station of IU's Endowment Campaign."

INEXS recently sponsored an event launching the Field Station's Endowment Campaign - Touching the Heart, Inspiring the Mind. The event was held in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies' 2008 Joint Annual Meeting being held at the George R. Brown Convention Center October 5 - October 9. Nearly 100 Field Station Alumni were on hand at the Downtown Houston event at Molly's Pub. Participants from as far the United Kingdom and the Netherlands attended the event. Officials from the Field Station included Lee J. Suttner; Robert Shrock, Emeritus Professor of Geological Sciences and Director of Development; Ed Ripley, Field Station Director; and Simon Brassell, Professor and Chair of Geological Sciences.

"This official launch of a multimillion dollar endowment campaign - Touching the Heart, Inspiring the Mind - obtained support for program development, scholarships, and upgrading of infrastructure that forms the Geologic Sciences Department's 10-year vision for the Field Station," stated Brassell.

The Geologic Field Station in the Tobacco Root Mountains of Montana is recognized as one of the top geoscience programs and facilities in the world.

Suttner emphasized the importance of the program by stating, "the demise of field station programs seriously jeopardizes our nation's ability to train the future workforce of geoscientists in the critical skills that are essential for careers in energy and environmental industries."

Currently, the program needs financial support to complete the mission-critical projects of improving nearly half-century old infrastructure, expand instructional programs to meet industry need, and establish self-sustaining, revenue-generating initiatives, according to Suttner.
