Beta Update of Enterprise Rich Internet Application Platform Combines New Enhanced Development Features with Fit Client Capabilities
NEW YORK -- At Web 2.0 Expo, Curl[R], Inc. today announced the immediate availability of the Beta 2 release of Curl Nitro, the code name for Version 7.0 of the Curl Rich Internet Application (RIA) Platform. As with the initial beta release announced earlier this year, the Curl Nitro Beta 2 offers the essential capabilities of the Fit Client, including support for rich user interfaces, complex application logic and agile development. Beta 2 builds on these capabilities through new features for developers looking to build both traditional enterprise-class RIAs, as well as Desktop RIAs.
"This beta update release is the next logical step in our introduction of the planned new Curl Version 7.0 features to our community," said Bert Halstead, chief architect, Curl, Inc. "We look forward to hearing the response to the additions we have made, as well as what other capabilities we can incorporate to continue offering the most superior enterprise RIA platform on the market."
In addition to providing enterprise-level security, high performance and support for large data sets, new features and functionality, the Curl Nitro Beta 2 release includes:
* Enhanced application performance through improved compiler register allocation
* New default look and feel for controls
* Ability for Curl applets to control page views when using the embedded browser API
* Support for encryption in SQLite APIs
* Ability to leverage the newly released Curl Development tools for Eclipse (CDE)
The Curl Nitro Beta 2 continues to support a wide range of Windows platforms, as well as Linux and Mac, and is currently available for download at http://www.curl.com/download/nitro/index.php.
> The Curl Nitro Beta 2 and Version 6.0 of the Curl platform will be demonstrated at the Web 2.0 Expo in booth #1705, and executives will be available to discuss Curl solutions in more detail.Multimedia: Curltech flickr page, Curltech photobucket page
