ACL Semiconductors on Record Pace for Third Quarter of 2008
Business Wire, Sept 15, 2008
--Sales Volumes & Margins in Q3 '08 to Exceed Q3 '07--
HONG KONG -- ACL Semiconductors, Inc., Samsung's largest distributor of memory components in Southern China, today announced its financial outlook for the third quarter of 2008.
Strong global demand for DRAM and Flash components is being accelerated by global consumer demand for a variety of next-generation electronics, such as MP4 players, PCs, cellular phones, PDAs, GPS devices and laptops. Samsung is one of the world's fastest growing memory component suppliers, achieving a growth rate of 21%, more than three times greater than 6% in the overall semiconductor industry, in the first half of 2008 (source: McClean Report). "Through our strategic, long-term relationship with Samsung, we are poised to continue to fill explosive market demand in Southern China, where 90% of all consumer electronics manufacturers are located," said Kenneth Chan, CFO of ACL Semiconductors, Inc.
"We are now in our seasonally strongest period of the year. As we near the end of our third quarter, our sales have continued to increase over the comparable period last year, and lean inventories have enabled us to show improved margins. If these positive supply and demand variables remain in place, we are confident that we will continue to report significant top-line improvement with our highest profit margins since going public in 2004," said Mr. Chan.
ACL Semiconductors said it expects to report third quarter results on or before November 14, 2008. ACL Semiconductors reported revenues of $43.9 million in the third quarter of 2007.
