Harleysville Insurance Again Named to InformationWeek 500; Company Also Recognized by Insurance Networking News for Technology Innovation

HARLEYSVILLE, Pa. -- Harleysville Insurance again has been named to the InformationWeek 500, the publication's annual listing of the most innovative information technology organizations in the United States. At #30, this marks the third consecutive year Harleysville has been has been named to the list.

At the same time, the company was named a winner of a 2008 INNovators Award, a special designation from Insurance Networking News magazine recognizing the company's efforts to advance the spread of business technology acumen in the insurance industry.

Two years ago, Harleysville introduced accessHarleysville(SM), a new agent portal to provide frequently needed information regarding agents' accounts, policies and billing information, as well as access to rating, quoting and policy issue systems for commercial and personal lines business. In 2007, the company began rolling out new rating, quoting and policy management systems for its personal and commercial lines business.
