Business Wire, Sept 24, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Midwest ISO Chairman Paul J. Feldman will headline the speakers at this October's Certification in Field Reliability Operations Conference, October 15-17 in Columbus, Ohio. The conference is designed for utility reliability managers and engineers, distribution engineers, and executives with PUC reporting responsibilities. Sessions focus on various aspects of improving the reliability of electrical distribution systems including preventing power outages, predicting outages, pre-emptive identification equipment in failure condition, creating SAIFI-reduction programs, improving customer satisfaction, and gaining the understanding of "why" certain electrical line components fail.

Chairman Feldman will address the key issues facing the country's aging distribution system, followed by an informal Q&A session from attendees. In addition, attendees will view new technologies for improving reliability that are being successfully used in the field, along with ideas for improving preventive maintenance programs. Dr. Stephen Sebo and Dr. Don Kasten of The Ohio State University High Voltage Laboratory will share findings from the cutting edge research they are conducting regarding electrical equipment failures. Corporate Performance Systems President Tom Wentz will also lead sessions that help attendees translate what they have learned into applicable measures and programs at their utilities.

Conference cost is $795 for IEEE Members, $895 for non-members. After October 1, all registration fees are $995. Retired or self-employed engineers can attend for $495. This conference qualifies for IEEE CEUs 1.2(12PDH). For registration visit www.exacterinc.com or contact Colleen Groezinger, cgroezinger@exacterinc.com, 614-880-9320.
