Business Wire, Sept 25, 2008
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Jerry Shapiro, counseling psychology professor at Santa Clara University in California and licensed clinical psychologist, has just completed interviewing more than one hundred individuals ages 45-65, about what's truly important in their lives, among the top responses: money.
In the midst of the current financial crisis, it is this age group that is dealing not only with the hard and cold facts of a crumbling economy, but also the psychological impact of losing a good chunk of their retirement. Jerry Shapiro is available to comment on the psychological impact the financial crisis is having on this age group, an age group he defines as a new stage of development as human longevity continues to lengthen.
