Top Employer for Workers Over Age 50 by AARP and Diversity Elite 60 by Hispanic Business

WASHINGTON -- AARP has named Pepco Holdings, Inc., (NYSE:POM) as one of the best employers in the nation for workers 50 and older, while Hispanic Business magazine named the company to its Diversity Elite 60 list.

PHI, with 5,000 employees in four states and the District of Columbia, was one of two D.C. - based companies to make the list of 50 recognized for "exemplary practices for older employees."

AARP made its selections based on a variety of factors, including best practices in the areas of phased retirement, 401(k) company contributions, flextime, job sharing, telecommuting and compressed schedules. PHI was recognized for "its overall benefits and workplace culture."

Hispanic Business chose PHI for a second straight year for Diversity Elite 60, an annual list determined by more than 30 variables that measure companies' commitments to Hispanic hiring, promoting, marketing, philanthropy, and supplier diversity.

AARP recognized PHI as a Top Employer for Workers Over Age 50 in 2005 and Hispanic Business acknowledged PHI for Diversity Elite 60 last year.
